![]() ![]() The main character reassures the reader that he is not insane periodically throughout the story and it seems as though he is trying to convince himself of this more than the audience. ![]() The way Poe describes the relationship between the two neighbors: one being utterly insane and murderous while claiming he’s not, and the other, easy going and completely oblivious to his neighbor’s thoughts. Poe’s best piece of work in my opinion is “The Tell Tale Heart.” I remember reading it aloud with my freshman year high school English class and to this day the story captivates me like no other. ![]() His work is highly complex and induces hours upon hours of stimulating conversation as well as a multitude of interpretations. Karl Martin to celebrate an aspect of American Literature for his American Writers II class, so I decided to write about Poe. His compilation of short stories and poems are fascinating to me. Edgar Allan Poe is without a doubt my favorite author. ![]()

Secondhand spirits5/13/2023 ![]() This tobacco smoke contains 4,000 chemicals compounds, of which 250 can cause a disease in humans. ![]() Pipe, cigar and cigarette releases secondhand smoke. They have equal probability of contracting cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Interestingly enough, there is no safe amount of exposure for passive smokers. The more smoke they inhale, the higher amount of these toxic chemicals enter into the bloodstream. In a case when non-smokers are exposed to involuntary smoking (secondhand smoking), they inadvertently breathe in the toxic chemicals and nicotine in the same manner as smokers do. ![]() The particles of this smoke are smaller and enter human lungs quite easily. The smoke contains excess amount of cancer-inducing agents (called carcinogens) and is highly toxic as compared to the one above.
